Garmin Edge 200 & Garmin Connect

Finally gave in and rather than replacing the iPhone which works just fine (except for Strava) and rather than buying yet another new cyclecomputer (which is cheaper than buying the 2nd bike kit) I have purchased myself a Garmin Edge 200 (£89.99).

Now I already have another Garmin device, and have used the myGarmin link to register the product and tie all products into one place. I have installed the Garmin Connect Plugin and go to the connect.garmin.com website where I get the login/register/login with myGarmin options and the instructions that show me what I should be seeing...

Naturally I selected login with myGarmin and it sees the device just fine everything is working, uptodate, registered etc... but what I don't see if anything like what I am meant to be seeing...

I see this

rather than this
Untitled2.jpg

If I try to register with connect.garmin.com I just get an error message saying I already have a myGarmin account and should use that... and trying to use the same details to login with just errors.

So my question "What am I missing that is blindingly obvious" before I ask Garmin Support for assistance... think it may be a case of Sunday evening fatigue. thank you.

Glad you got it sorted..
PS.. The 200 is my shoping list as well.
picked mine up from Halfords (car blew a head light bulb at the Sunday and they are 2 for 1 on headlight bulbs at the moment) - not that that helps you much in Spain  . So went over to have a look at it and got talking... anyhow guy in the shop agreed to meet their online price (basically went to his till, reserved it for me and did an in-store pickup whilst I stood at the till) and I got it for £89.99 which was the cheapest I had seen anywhere online.

So far, so good (after above issues anyhow) and strava is even picking up on segments I didn't know existed because my iPhone is so badly inaccurate that at times it can show me cycling 50-100m off to the side of the road/cycle path through the middle of a lake! I was surprised and pleased to see that it does actually come with 2 bike mounts - someone actually considered the fact that you may have more than 1 bike you want to use it on! Regretfully I can not send courses to it from my existing Garmin software (offline software), but have to be online it appears, but I don't often pre-plan my rides so that is no big deal currently!

My initial choice was a Garmin 200 when I got my first bike in October last year, but like I always do I start with buying loads of cheap computers first that I'm never happy with and then but the one I want.
I've seen them the same price on amazon with free delivery to Spain so I'm happy with that.

Hi,
sorry to jump this thread, but i too have been eying up the 200 with a view of LEJOG later this year. However, i've just found info on this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bryton-Ride...O2SG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358885223&sr=8-1
Does anyone have any info on this? What attracts me more is the mapping - could come in useful on an end-to-end ride.
Battery life could be an issue with long days in the saddle, but i believe you can buy generic battery support packs for use of these and mobile phones etc. is this right?
Sorry again and thanks for any help/advice
