Got a Garmin 510 at present that I am happy with, but tempted by the 520. Just wondered if anyone has one and what their feeling is compared to 510 maybe?

My reasoning is that I can see the 510 regularly selling for £150 used in eBay. I am in the market for a Garmin HRM and OutFront Mount too. I can get the 520 Bundle for £269 - 10%, with Mount, HRM and Speed/Cadence Sensors.

If I get £150 and can sell the Speed Cadence Sensors for £40 (at least), then the 520 upgrade, HRM and Mount has cost me £52. HRM and Mount would cost £60 to go on my 510. Result!

I have one - the usual Garmin bugs, but it more than meets my needs. I like being able to control my turbo trainer, like the strava segments, find the sensors easier to use and the display is easier to read than the 510. The connected stuff is ok, easy ride uploads in good, I don't really need the text alerts or live tracking.

I dislike that you cannot have strava segments whilst following a course. I have the bundle and would have paid more than the £195 it cost me (supplier discount).

No - I borrowed one for a week, but did not have one long term. I would say there is not a huge leap to the 520, but if you like new toys you will be happy.
That's the thing, it's partially to do with the control of the Tacx I have and partially because its simply a new gadget.

I have used it to control my Tacx and it works perfectly well (nothing to do with the calibration issues I have). I tend not to use it too much as I usually use a RLV or something else. It is nice to ride a previously ridden route on the Tacx, although on the 520 the map does not keep up showing where you are.

RLV?

Sounds like it's a good concept, but could be slightly smoother with the maps.

Found the Bundle Pack for £239.99 online, so have ordered a moment ago. Cheers for your feedback @Milkfloat.

Looking forward to comparing to the stats that my 510 provides, before selling the 510 on.

Got mine at the weekend, lovely little unit. The di2 integration is a nice touch for those of us who sometimes need reassurance that there is indeed an extra gear left when you're fading on 'that climb' (or just a warning that there isn't )

It's manual Ultegra for me, so a glance down gives the same reassurance. We all do it!

No update on delivery for me yet, but hoping its here for the weekend.

Looking forward to riding past routes on the Turbo with the 520 changing the tension.

I added a Stages power meter crank recently and it goes really well with the 520. The cadence becomes a little laggy compared with using the native Garmin sensor but otherwise it's a great addition. I've already managed to spot a few bad habits I didn't know I had. Going to try the whole setup properly at RP this weekend.
