Anyone else riding one of the new Specialized with the suspension system built into the steerer?

Beware!
A rider on last weekend's BCM 600 arrived at the 200km control complaining of "loose" steering.
The chaps providing mechanical support there took a while to work out why the steerer and forks where no longer turning in sync with each other , but after investigation found that the critical bolt had worked loose.

On https://media.specialized.com/support/collateral/0000070545_R2.pdf it's the 4mm allen head on Fig 6. of Page 6.

Anyone else seen this?

Not come across one yet. I think I would avoid it, One likes to think that everything is nicely bolted together when one is plummeting down a long descent!

There was a nasty accident involving one a while ago, but Spesh were quick to point out that it was a development model that hadn't been fitted correctly. It certainly seems that correct fitting is critical.

Still and all, it shows what a load of hokum it is when magazines prattle on about carbon frames absorbing 'road buzz', else Spesh wouldn't have needed to develop the system.
