On your 1st question - there is one way to find out ...
On your 2nd question - the road round Arthur's Seat is one-way (apart from the bit you cycled up after your near drowning on the way to the Commie Pool) ... So there is no escape once you've started, you just have to carry on round .

Regarding Arthur's Seat - the climb is neither very long nor very steep, it just keeps getting a wee bit steeper when you've had enough, and there is always that extra bend when you think you are coming round the last one
