Now its got cold, a creaking noise has appear on the left crank when I cycle under light pressure.
As I speed up and go faster it dissappears. Everthing is lubricated and tight. Nothings loose.
Put the pedals on another bike and they are fine
Any ideas please. Its a Raleigh MTB

Square taper BB ?
Crank might feel tight on the BB but it isnt tight enough. Have it off, regrease it, and put it back on. Tighten it up HARD.

Of course it may not be your crank at all - sounds are deceptive.

id go with loose crank arm as well. I had the exact same issue, with the same odd disappearing symptoms. at slow speed the pressure on the arm was more every rev than when going at full chat, so it clicked. turned out to need 1/4 turn with the alan wrench

Decided to strip the BB right down. Bearings and cones looked good with grease in them.
Would you believe, the cone on the chain side that is supposed to be tight and need a vice to shift
was hand loose. Every time I adjusted the BB, it moved.Took a while for the crank puller to arrive.
I have a nice "creakless" bike now
