I do not understand the legal basis of the judge ruling that the evidence should be destroyed. It is not just evidence in this trial but evidence in other ongoing investigations. It would be like a judge ruling that evidence in an robbery case should be destroyed after the conviction of the accused, even though the same evidence was still being used in investigations into allegations of assault. I can't see how they have the right to rule this.

Waindell,
I bet there's a lot of Spanish tennis players, footballers, tiddly winks players and possibly even cyclists breathing a sigh of relief.

Too true.

I'm glad to see Andy Murray agrees - he's just tweeted

"operacion puerto case is beyond a joke... biggest cover up in sports history? why would court order blood bags to be destroyed?"

Well I guess he knows exactly which Spanish tennis player is the owner of some of that blood...

The blood bags should be traced but I suspect a couple of big Spanish football teams will be implicated and we know how the Government in Madrid love their football team!

Well it's either that or he had an arm transplanted from a gorilla...
First I heard of those rumours was 6 or 7 years ago at least, from a friend with family connections to the Barca team, the connection being Nadal's uncle (Miguel Angel) was a very physical centre back, nicknamed "The Beast" for some reason...
