The forks will have a removable crown race but I find that removing it
a) is unnecessary as it isn't worn
and
b) it usually causes damage to the finish as it will have been pressed on really tightly.
All you need to do is look for a sealed bearing that is identical to the old one.
Sealed headset bearings come with 4 variables - you need to get one that ticks all 4 boxes.
1) OD (ie outside diameter)
2) ID (ie internal diameter )(1.5" in your case)
3)Depth (the cause of your problem as I think you need a 6mm depth and the new bearing has an 8mm depth)
4)Angle of the bevels on the inside and outside of the bearing (usually 45x45% the old bearing will have this printed on the side).
