Got a Lezyne femto which runs on a couple of those button batteries and they are cheap, bright flash and I have not changed the original batteries yet!

USB charging has in my opinion two major downsides :
1) potential water ingress
2) on board battery restricts you flexibility, I much prefer to be able to use re charge AA batteries (or any other size) and have the control to replace the them when they fail. This approach will almost certainly increase the life span of you light.
I am currently looking for a 2x AA small front light to use on flash during the day and will be following this forum with interest.

I've used these for years. The current ones are brighter than they used to be, but even my 5 year old is very bright. The reason I still have older ones is that they're so reliable.

I generally run daylight lights, and have been told these show up well even in sunlight, whether flashing or steady. The penalty is shorter battery life than with some other 'be seen' lights, but it's more than enough using standard 1000 mAH rechargeables. I've never got anywhere near the quoted run time with rechargeable or alkaline batteries with this or any other 2 x AAA light.

They look good. Not to worried about battery live when you talking about rechargeable AAA batteries as they are easy to charge.
Thanks
