The front derailleur seized up the other day and I went to fix it today, seems I was a bit heavy handed and I've rounded a thread and its knackered  Took it into evans and they say its shot.

The original was a Tiagra but the guy in the shop says that the new ones won't fit as mine is a 34.9 Dia, the only one I can find thats is a 9 speed double and is 34.9 Dia is the Sora which seems silly too step down

So any suggestions please ??

34.9 DIA
9 Speed
Double front (Although the shifter does shift three times)

Also the rear brake has gone as well so was going to get a tigra to replace it (its a cheapo nasty one at the mo) But have seen these

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/miche-performance-57mm-drop-brake-calliper-set/

Its only for my commuter and my ride in is fairly flat so thought they would be ok, anyone used them ?

Thanks

Jim

For your front mech, I'd either go Sora (frankly, a front mech's a front mech, there's not a huge amount of difference), or get a braze-on adapter and use the braze-on style of mech.

Given that your options for 9 speed are Sora or Tiagra, I'd go with the cheap one meself...

Agree with TheDoc.

Front mechs performs a very basic function and even the lowest specifications perform as good as the more expensive ones (so long as they're tuned right)

Turns out the shop assistant in Evans knew as much as me, after looking at the set up again I've realised that the front mech was mounted on a blaze-on adaptor as the Doc suggested so I've just ordered the Tiagra like for like

Ordered a Tiagra rear brake as well, didn't want to wait for wiggle when I know evans will have it here tomorrow.

Thanks chaps
