From MTB to Road Bike....

Well, after falling into the trap of a cheap mountain bike from Halfords, I have decided to get myself a road bike. having been looking around and visiting a few shops, they all seem to above my budget of around £300-£400. I have noticed a few comments advising the Triban 3 but wondered what others would be suggested within this price bracket?

Triban 3 Is considered the best value for money road bike in that price bracket but there are others considered decent too

Hello. I've got a cheapy Argos MTB and did the same, plumped for a Carrera Virtuoso from Halfords for about £330 IIRC.

PS. My Argos BSO is still going strong after 14 months and several hundred miles of, and I'll be honest, punishment. Just make sure you look after it.

I had considered the TDF from Halfords too but was a little put off as my MTB was from halfords and it hasnt been the best. However, the reviews on it are good and the price is good. It may fit the bill as an entry level road bike...

Why don't you look at a second hand specialized allez or the like, getting an older bike means you can get a better spec of components for your budget.

Actually look in the classifieds on here there's an allez going for sale and I think a bianchi
