From where I come from, it's indistinguishable from South London!

Hhhmmm.
Would there and back be 200km + ?
Could we do it in less than 14 hours ?
Hhmmmm...... Now we're talking  (So far, I was planning to do my RRTY on Nov 29 - getting it out done early would be handy...)

So far, I was looking for the shortest possible way back, which would be around 65km. But adding some more miles should be not big issue. Time-wise, it depends a bit on the amount of faffage on the way into Southend. @dellzeqq , what do you think is the tail end's likely ETA?

Recalled from memory, even on slow FNRttCs the overall speed is well above the Audax time limit. However, we might be over time at Southend if we arrive after 6.30am. I'm not quite sure if that's an issue if we catch up on the way back and remain in the overall time limit. I'll check with the Audax guys.

I'll plot a route tonight.

As Adrian said, the aim is to arrive at 7am, but we have definitely arrived a bit earlier. We've also arrived later (I think the worst for any ride was around 9-30 for the Tail End). I definitely wouldn't rely on arrival before 6-30, that's probably about as early as I'd expect to get there. Simon would probably find ways to slow the ride down, if we were going any faster.

I'm not riding it myself, but I think it would be a good idea to get the agreement of all intending to ride back into London before deciding to do more miles, or up the pace, or have a shorter stop at Southend.

I'm also not convinced that you could complete 200km in audax time if the first part of the ride is an FNR without blatting it for the rest.
