I'd guess they would flow into the southern outfall sewer and get sent to Crossness to be pumped back to river height. There may be some local pumped sumps instead though.

I guess one possibility is to do both Bostals - the decision would be which to descend.
It could also become the FNRTTC version of the Alpe d'huez double ascent which incorporated the descent of the badly surfaced road from the Col de Sarenne: up Ditchling, down Westmeston and up Ditchling again.
