Mind you Charlie, it's a helluva long way round to get to Lewes. You could just go via the A27 cycle path all the way there.

this conversation (about routes from Brighton to Bexhill) does make one appreciate that Brighton and Hove has a tough job on its hands, getting their citizens on to bikes. It's not easy to avoid major routes and it's pretty darn hilly.

Blimey, is this a regular turn out or are these exceptional numbers.

it'll be great to ride in a 90+ strong bunch, looking forward to it especially the safety briefing, cant wait for that!

PS Dell', Dan's in as well

Charlie is (unless I'm talking bollox) to ride Jenny's route.
Correct.

The driving factor, for me at any rate, is I won't be on the road bike (a hopefully minor wheel issue to be sorted next week), rather one of the commuter bikes, so even trailing in TallMart's wake as is the custom isn't an option.
As a previous post said, I'm just looking for a pootle that'll get me 100 miles to the wobbly coach and lunch at the Sovereign Light Café (recent Keane hit).

@ JJ - The Brighton rides tend to get more people. Just hope the Hatlers have enough coffee and cups!

There have been over a hundred entrants for Brighton rides before.

This Friday might, however, be the upper limit for what the hatlers can deliver. I might have to invest in a few more plastic beakers. There is but the one kettle working on a reduced voltage, so generating that much coffee could be problematic. Perhaps I should issue ration books.

The conditions tonight look perfect. We should see lots of the moon. And on that basis, I am happy to say that, barring disasters, Café Hatler will be open at the bottom of DB tomorrow morning. Given the likely numbers, any volunteers for helping re-distribute cups and passing sugar and milk round will be welcome. The mini-hatlers will be keen to get up the hill as soon as possible, and mrs hatler will want to accompany the smaller of the two, so won't be able to help out with cafe duties.

See you all at HPC !!
