Singer Jack Ely’s nasally vocals were so muffled and hard to understand that moral crusaders imagined they heard all kinds of nasty stuff in there, and the song was banned by radio stations across the country.

The FBI took 31 months to go through the recording, only to finally admit that they couldn’t understand a single word.

Admittedly not music but I'm a huge fan of Derek and Clive. When Ad Nauseum came out in the 70s several police forces looked at having them done under obscenity laws.

This was banned by me from being played in the house. Mrs S chose it as the first tune at our wedding, and I have loathed it ever since. xx(

Burzum.
As black metal as black metal can get. Burzum was the brainchild of Norwegian Vike Vikernes. A thoroughly unpleasant individual. He was jailed for the murder of a fellow black metaller 'Euronymous'. He was also responsible for the burning down of three christian churches in Norway resulting in a spate of copyist arson attacks. .

GG Allin.
probrably one of music vilest individuals. His live concerts consisted of mainly really bad punk rock sung whilst naked (he was known for having a tiny willy), self mutilating himself, pissing on and throwing his own feces at the crowd. The shoes usually then descended into mass brawls with the result that Allin getting a thorough good hiding getting back on stage all bloody and beaten to carry on singing. He died of the ubiquitous musician heroin overdose.
