Freezing UHT milk?

I used the last of the milk this morning, and forgot on the way home, so I've opened my store cupboard carton of long life stuff. Trouble is, I'm away for for the weekend, and I'll only use a dollop in a cuppa now, and one for breakfast tomorrow. Can I freeze the remainder? I often freeze leftover fresh milk when I end up with some left and I'm away for a few days so it'll go off before I'm back. Will UHT be adversely affected?

No don't freeze it.

I've found UHT lasts ok and if in the fridge it should be ok for a weekend. Fresh stuff I'd worry about but UHT is heated to death. Though try and use it up asap when you return

ok, thanks. It's not a great loss if it goes off, except that I don't like the waste. Would freezing it actually ruin it, or do you think it's just that there's no need?

I'd have cereal tomorrow to use some up, but I've run out of cereal....

It's one of those weeks...

I might be wrong but as the milk's been subject to UHT and processed it's best not to freeze it as it will have been transported and been returned to it's current state and freezing and then defrosting may just not be a good idea. I feel it's kind of similar to not freezing items of food that have been defrosted already. This is just a lay person's understanding though!

Ah, makes sense though if you're going away to not have too much stuff around that can go off so the cereal thing makes perfect sense
