They weren't interested at all in helping out a client of mine with MS who was trying to organise a holiday to the states and didn't have enough money to hire an adapted car. Despite the fact that his father had been the Grand Teddy Bear, or whatever they call the big boss.

they aren't a charity. they're more of an "ill scratch your back you scratch mine" type scheme. whatever you take that to mean

got to remember the vast majority of masons are 5th degree or less, so they don't know that much in the grand scheme of things. relatively speaking, that is - they'll know more than you or I, but it'll be titbits here and there nothing earth shattering.

after the manchester air crash in 1985, my mum, who was a social worker at the time, had a sad case of a girl who had survived the crash but lost her parents. her dad had been a freemason, and apparently the local masons pulled out all the stops and ensured that the girl was looked after and that her life continued, as far as was possible, as before.

The 'god' that they worship is Satan. Obviously this isn't something they brag about, in fact they hide it, lie about it and deceive their lower membership about it, but it is a fact.

What you really want to ask yourself is what kind of people want to be a member of a 'club' that lies and hides things? If you're a straight, honest guy, what have you got to be secretive about?

As I say, many of the lower-grade members have no idea about what the organisation is really about. The guys at the top know the real agenda and are happy to pull the strings and take the money.

Oh, and once you're in it's not simple getting back out! As I say, you've really got to ask yourself why they do things the way they do if everything is above board. Simple answer, because it isn't.

But one of their tomes (the Ahiman Rezon; I just wiki'd it) says "A Mason is obliged by his Tenure to believe firmly in the true Worship of the eternal God, as well as in all those sacred Records which the Dignitaries and Fathers of the Church have compiled and published for the Use of all good Men: So that no one who rightly understands the Art, can possibly tread in the irreligious Paths of the unhappy Libertine, or be induced to follow the arrogant Professors of Atheism or Deism;"

To me it's all a load of bunkum and baloney, and I am an "arrogant professor of atheism", but each to his own, and all that
