The eyelets to sit the wheel at the rear of my Specialised bike is currently broken.
The metal insert has come away from the frame so it is not possible to sit a wheel in properly. It can be forced back in but will not stay there.
Can this be welded firm again by a welder or can you glue it or is it actually a broken frame?

Failure in the dropouts are usually terminal in my experience or are you talking about the derailleur hanger here? What do you mean by insert?

Show us what's fell off - is it the mech hanger (the silver bit)? You can get spares if that's the case as they are usually bolted on.

What's the bike.

If the hanger is bent or broken it can be replaced. There are 100s of different kinds, so you'd have to do some research to find the right one.

Looks like the hanger.

Should be replaceable as has been mentioned above. What model/year of bike is it?

How is the hanger attctched to the frame?

Looking closer the hanger forms part of the dropout. Are you saying it won't stay in place?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
It's the derailleur hanger which has come loose from the frame. I imagine it could be welded solid onto the frame?

Hi
thanks for your reply.
Exactly. It won't stay in place so the derailleur which screws into it comes is hanging crooked.

Hi
No, the bold seems to be there but at the piece where it synchs with the frame it has come loose.
It needs to be welded to the frame, I would say.
Buying a new one seems unnecessary as there is nothing wrong with it.
I think I need a welder?

If the bolt fell off then it would come off altogether, I think.
Basically the one bolt is still there but the weight of the derailleur has forced it off the frame at the back.
You can see it in my photo. There's a gap and it needs to be completely glued or welded solid.

Take it to a bike shop, the hanger is designed to come off to be replaced. If you weld it you'll wreck the frame.
