Thanks Midlife... that's something to think about. I would have the cost of a respray on top of that. Hmmm...

Its a Claud Butler Elite from the 1990s. Apart from that crack it seems to be in excellent condition, there's hardly a scratch on it. I wonder how or why it cracked in that place though, as I've never seen that before? It seems so unlikely. What could have caused it?

If I would have to pay around the £90 mark, then get it sand blasted & resprayed, would it be worth it? I could save money by spraying it myself of course. If I did I would use these paints: https://spray.bike/

That's a tough decision and only 1 you can make , if it was a bike i had owned for years and had sentimental value and i knew it rode well and fitted me then i would consider it , but in the current market place you can pick up another frame cheaply enough .

So if it was me i would say not worth the effort
