Four of my beloved Carltons:

1964 Flyer in purple, 1960 Flyer 24", 1962 Criterium in Eau d'nil green, 1962 Constellation with all chrome frame. The better weather means I can get these out for riding.

All very beautiful. I bet there are time you wished you had more than one arse and two legs!

I believe this is only a small part of your collection....

I can't quite see on this laptop, but is the an inch-pitch chainring on the green one?

Carlton were a well respected name till Raleigh took them over, ruined them and then dropped the name entirely.

Bastards.

On the other hand, after the Carlton takeover Raleigh produced some very high quality and well respected lightweight machines, thanks at least in part to the knowledge and skills they acquired along with Carlton's physical assets.
Purists will still decry the Raleigh Carltons though, in exactly the way some Bentley enthusiasts don't regard the ones built after 1930 as proper Bentleys, because they were taken over by Rolls-Royce!
