Okay, I know, Ribble have become a "Sports Direct" with imaginative prices to reduce from, but £900 is still a pretty good price if you are looking now, rather than it's such a bargin I've just got to have one.

Bye

Ian

As Boardman's new carbon 8.9 with hydro tiagra is £1400 I think the Ribble is on the higher side of ok

Don't forget that steel is now the frame material with a price premium attached and carbon fibre is for the masses

If you are one of those folks who likes to take a very complete tool set out on rides this may be of interest:

I started looking out for a small & lightweight solution to this after a clubmate got his chain thoroughly jammed between little ring and frame. Undoing that preload bolt is a challenge without a tool that fits but most are quite heavy.

My tyre levers fit those perfectly as used on my riding partner's bike and some random stranger's.

Crazy discounts on lightweight (14-15Kg) GT hybrid and gravel ebikes at Pauls Cycles, that use the Mahle X35 rear hub motor, a 250Wh battery and hydraulic brakes.

~£1050; 1250; 1450

Nice price! A grx400 (tiagra) gravel bike wouldn't be much less and being hub drives less wear on drive chain...

Great to think when I need one it will be old tech!!

I walked into Evans Cycles to pick up the Trek District following the accident repair and handed over some virtual money in exchange for a 2024 Specialized Tarmac SL7 Comp (105 DI2 group set)

£2,499.

I don't think I've seen them that cheap anywhere. I've found it discounted online but not by that much and not in my size.
Also, possibly the most hypocritical puchase I've made, on account I don't like Specialized's ethics as business and I don't like contributing to Frasers Group's bottom line. By all acounts though, a very good bike if going fast is your thing.

The wheelset doesn't seem like much to write home about, but dare say they'll get the job done.

On edit: it was available much cheaper, late last year!
