Found a Bargain? Do Tell.

There are lots of these new Ofo bikes around at the moment, selling for about £70 to £100.

Shimano Nexus hubs (3 speed rear, dynamo front), solid tyres and what feels like a general bomb-proof build.

I couldn’t resist, but had to change the seatpost - standard post is a dropper post, but not long enough for those over 5’9” ish.

I’ve had a very bad experience with Tannus solid tyres on a Brompton, but a short test ride suggests the tyres on this are OK - whether it’s the brand or the bigger size I don’t know.

A word of warning - virtually all the fixings are tamper-proof (really odd specifications which my standard tamper proof tools won’t touch), so be prepared to get a drill and dremel out if you want to undo anything!

Aren’t those the ones that need a code to unlock the brake using your phone but you can leave anywhere? Sounds like the venture has failed?

Yes, it looks as if the whole business is close to failing: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofo_(company) The ones being sold don’t have the lock / 3G thing fitted, I fitted a cheap ‘nurse’s lock’ to the one pictured as the bike already has the mounts.

I assume ofo have more bikes than they need and that it’d cost more to ship them back to China than they’re worth, hence they’re being sold off in bulk.

Halfrauds are doing Cateye EL135 and Orb Black Rear Bike Light Set for £12.61 so when using my 20% off cycle2work voucher and Halfords 10% off loaded gift card (they always take everything) its comes to about £9 . Looks a good price at £12.61 without all of the discount in fairness. They have got 15% of all accessories at the moment.
A special thanks to the van driver who appeared to purposely aim to hit my front light that came off yesterday while I was on my way to work ! I had dismounted and was stood on the path looking at it ready to pounce when he hit his target !!! lol

These would certainly do for a bit of touring or commuting. Zipped pockets, stretchy fit, fast drying and reinforced arse. Under a tenner (in blue, other colours are more).

I’ve just bought a pair of Vittoria Revolution G+ Isotech tyres 700c x 38 for my Tricross. For two they are priced at £9 each or best offer, I offered £6.50 which was instantly auto accepted, you may get them cheaper?
So £13 including postage for 2 tyres has got to be a bargain!
