That's what I do with all my lube but found this one dirtier than the rest. YMMVNot if you just put a drop on the roller, then wipe with a rag. It's what I use on the MTB

At the risk of a thread divert you mean you have a fighting chance of attending to things without removing the braces and whatever is on top of them?
edit- anyone got views on whether the padding is up to a day ride (reason I have been contemplating these mysterious things) or are they more for a quick spin/commute?
