I think the big slot is to hold the light mounting strap.
The microSD card slot appears to have a waterproof(ish) rubber cover:

I have the fly6(v) and it's where the strap passes through the back of the light. The SD card and charging port are under the rubber flap and waterproof. This looks to be an earlier version of the fly 6.

We do not know the quality of low light shots for this yet. However, the 3 year warranty is great.
