Dropped into Halfords to have a look at their Sale rail. I bought a Ridge long sleeve jersey for £4 and it seems pretty decent quality
It will do as a commuting base layer if nothing else.

I've got a couple of those and you can't go wrong for the money.
It's very pot luck as to what each store has left, but as well as the Ridge jerseys the branch on York Rd Leeds has a handful of Boardman short sleeved tops for a tenner (not my size unfortunately) and a decent smattering of other clothing.
It looks like they can be click n collected on-line to avoid a potentially wasted journey. And you still get the British Cycling discount.

Very similar to SKS Choromos. Seem well made and just as fiddly to fit as you'd expect! I only needed a front, but at £13.96 (last week's price) it was worth it to buy the pair.

I got some of these the other week for me, the wife and a lad at work (turned out he needs giant specific guards so I kept the spare set) they literally look like they came out of the same factory as the sks ones I had on before.
