Have just boought a Halfords high rear carrier = brought the bike home with it and it is fine
Also not keen on roof mounted as it is more work to get bike on and off

i felt the other way round, the rear carrier was a bind to put on my car and then couldnt use the boot

went for a roof one, difficult to get the height but i have a people carrier

Well one of my Abus Bordo 6000s turned up today (bike lock). Amazon finally delivered after over 6 weeks. Can't complain as they were £19.99 rather than £60. Awaiting the second one.
