Moon XP500 rechargeable £58.49 Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Moon-500-Front-Light-Black/dp/B005QXAJNO/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Doesn't seem too bad for a light that you can see with. Have the XP300 which is pretty good for what I paid £40.

Koo bikes 10% off code this week ANYTHING10 or free Electron Backupz lights - BACKUPZ

I also use the Smart Lunar 35 & 25 in town and they are good for the money. I actually prefer using the 25 in white at night because the sides are slightly translucent giving better side visibility. The rear 1/2 watt that comes in that pack is perfectly adequate but compared to the R1 that appears almost identical in appearance and was available from Koo last week at £6.47 - it's like night and day!

Wow - this thing is retina burningly bright and think it is brighter than my R2 and prefer the design as only 3 modes to cycle through. Wish I had bought another instead of a second R2 now.

This is a brilliant light to see with or can be used on lower setting to be seen with. I used it through 2 winters and only need a new mounting bracket as that was on my stolen bike before I can use it again. I paid just short of £70 some time ago in a sale but at this price is even more of a steal! On highest setting it lasts around 45 mins continuous or got me to work and back before the notification light ring around the power button turned red to warn of low power. Highly recommended!

been using mien for a week and really like it, as said its more of a be seen light but boy is it bright, it can light up street signs from quite far away, really impressed lol

reason why i got them is i dont see my self riding in conditions that i need a "to see" light

il try take a video of the front and rear lights for you.
Cheers for that, looking forward to it. My regular after work 20 miler is a mix of urban, A roads and country lanes, so I need something to light me up plus something to spy potholes and debris by

Cripes, that last one is an absolute bargain. There is a theoretical issue with combined controls (hassle if one of the shifters develops a fault) but this rarely happens and at that price ....
Wish I'd known about this before I embarked on buying stuff for a transmission upgrade for an old bike of mine.

I know - tempted to get some just to add to my bike shops worth of "spares" - that I never seem to use, "just in case"!

I have some LX dual controls that CRC was flogging off for about £17 last year and really like them for what they are and the price. Here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/rs/en/shimano-lx-sti-brake-shifter-combo-m580/rp-prod6077
Think the RRP on them was about £100.

Unfortunately I don't bother with CRC anymore since the awful website "upgrades", continually sent wrong items and CS has gone way downhill. From as efficient as Amazon that was actually my favourite Internet shopping experience that I constantly recommended - to one of the worst in a matter of months.

"Progress" for ya!

The brakes alone are £11.99 each on CRC http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/rs/en/shimano-deore-v-brakes-m590/rp-prod39004?_$ja=tsid:46412|cgn:Shimano+-+Brakes|cn:Chain+Reaction-UK-PLA-PLA-All-DT-SE|kw:133124UK_Shimano+Deore+V+Brakes+M590&gclid=CICw6cKFwroCFWTHtAodfgwAfw

Noodles are available on Ebay for about £1.80 each.

Clarks 70mm XTR V brake cartridges & 2 sets of pads - £4.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLARKS-70...sure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item1e819e90f2

I paid £7 for this from CRC in January for my Avid Single Digit 5 V brakes simply because I am too lazy and cack handed to bother with messing about with all the washers - only on a commuter hybrid. Have had no problems with them and only just changed to the 2nd set of pads today - which only took a couple of minutes.

Just bought another couple so have 4 pairs of spare pads for a tenner and I've had no issues with them mainly on road.

Yes, er, I know - one lot is currently on its way to me from CRC! - explains me being pee-ed off with you for not posting this info before.

Mind you it's an 8-speed upgrade I'm planning (from 7).

At the risk of the mods saying this is off-topic (though it is a common source of bargains) why has CRC gone downhill? I was kind of expecting a delivery yesterday but it will probably come today so no probs - and was free delivery. I like the new site's ability to save wish lists. It wouldn't before unless you retained all cookies.
