Doubt they're fakes if they're coming from a known retailer IMO, but rather a version produced for a different market where the compound is cheaper.

Possible. However, my fairly extensive search never found a reference anywhere to these, thus the doubts.
And as you might recall, even someone as big as Tesco has been known to purchase via grey markets.

Definitely not a scam; probably just last year's marketing item (actually it was 2022's).

Thank you. Have bought two for son, for a pub bike with (relatively) low clearances. Shipping cost a fiver so <£20 a pair.
I find the wired tyres easier to fit than the folding ones, though confess mine are nearly all latter ('cos quality)
