Not strictly Cycling, but useful for cycling stuff.

Alpkit are knocking out Nikwax on offer at the moment.

Tec-Wash - 1Ltr = £7.39
TX-Wash in Proofer 1Ltr = £10.99

TX - https://alpkit.com/products/nikwax-tx-direct-wash-in?variant=32853777678441
Tec-Wash - https://alpkit.com/products/nikwax-tech-wash?variant=31072162054249

Works out cheaper than buying 5Ltrs off ebay if you consider the 10%/5% Member cashback offery thingy gimmick with the benefit of dealing with someone reputable with customer services and bricks and mortar.

For all of you that clean their outside windows this is an absolute bargain but hurry only 4 left!
I ordered this on Monday arrived today it is very well made the brush and wiper are of excellent quality I can’t believe I only paid £12.99 for it. Create an Rodert Dyas account first to get the £12.99 price.

These have showed up and I didn't really check them other than get them out the box and untie them so they could get back in shape.

However I got an email from Ribble saying they have sent 700x35 instead of 700x38 which is odd as I ordered 700x35. However on checking they have sent 700x38 🤦

Now I need to work out if it's worth seeing if they will fit on the Super Galaxy, or just return them.

It was a positive that they were wide 35s. Looking closer they are in fact 38, which is more like what I wanted.

I got that same email….which was odd ‘cos I thought the deal was on 38’s……which was what they sent, & indeed what I wanted 🤪
A bargain!

My order for 3 of these has turned into a micro-saga!
- Firstly, they took a week to despatch them - isn't it funny how that seems like an aeon these days?!? I was surprised, but it really wasn't an issue.
- Shortly after I ripped open the box, they sent the following email:
" Unfortunately, we have identified a listing error which means you will be receiving the Schwalbe Marathon GT365 700X35mm Dual guard instead of the expected Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 700x38mm Road Tyres.
If these are not suitable, please follow our Returns procedure detailed here ... etc ... etc "

🤦‍♀️

Now I didn't read that email until I'd fitted all 3(three) tyres to various wheels (for use on 2 different bikes!), and rode to work with 2 of them fitted (this morning.) I think I will be keeping them, given the meagre £11 cost (and that the "Marathon" branding has proven itself for me over the years).

Worth pointing out that they come up pretty huge - they're a few mm bigger than the 37mm Voyager Hypers that had been on the same bike. Most of that is the size of the tread blocks.

Anyway

I got a second email this morning with a correction. i am not convinced they will fit under the mudguards as i like them fitted quite close, i spoose is there is not much in it i can just get some new stays. i might have to try this afternoon if the weather is ok.

The flippin things are getting bigger! Just got another email correction:

"Unfortunately, we have identified a listing error which means you will be receiving the
Schwalbe Marathon GT365 700X38mm Dual Guard instead of the expected
Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 700x35mm Road Tyres.

"
( I should point out that they don't seem to have the size written on the sidewall, I did have a look! Admittedly in a badly-lit garage ... )

Anyway

How do the tyres ride, especially vs the Hypers? They look quite chunky for road riding.

I’ve got the Hypers on the commuter and as lovely as they are, they tend to slide a bit on the current silty mulch we have on the roads.

But, I have a long commute and don’t want to turn the bike into a tractor.
