Good morning,
....... But nobody seems to have mentioned them on the forums here...
There is a reason for that,:laugh:

https://www.planetx.co.uk/our-brands

My perception of Planet X is the same as my perception of Sports Direct in the past, that is they buy brands but are not committed to the values that made that brand great.

Sometimes this is understandable, as I understand it they got the Holdsworth brand pretty much as a freebie and tried to sell steel Holdsworth frames. Yet very few people wanted them even the 753 frames that were made by a UK frame builder so Planet X never made the massive investment needed to be able to say that we are a UK frame builder instead settled on sticking stickers on imported frames.

If they really had confidence in their brands I would have expected everything would have the same name, or possibly a premium quality brand and a mass market brand, but not brands based on product type.

There was a time when Planet X was a reasonably respected bike brand in itself.
I know quite a few keen amateurs who rode PX bikes 8-10 years ago.

As you say they've gone down the bargain basement route with ridiculous continual "offers" on the website to the point you never know whats a good deal or not. Rather Like Eurocar parts - who actually seem to have stepped back from that so much recently
