AFAIK the C5 is 100% polyester. The shakedry is a fancy 'goretex' fabric.

My Shakedry was only £106 from Millets a couple of years ago.
I know the Shakedry will pack a lot smaller, but would be interested to compare the 2

You probably got lucky.
The reviews say it packs down but you could always order and see, free returns with amazon

I have bought this jacket from Decathlon. VAN RYSEL RAIN JACKET RACER ULTRALIGHT - BLACK.

Initial impressions are very good and back up the reviews on the web site but I have not used on a showery day. Seems good value at £40.

PS - Sizing is similar to Castelli. I need a large at 5'8" and 38" chest.

Many thanks, and the large is just my size so for £34 and sold by Amazon (not one of their 'Fulfilled by...'sellers) it's worth a punt. The product code quoted of 100193 matches that on my current Goretex C5 jacket which cost £100+ a couple of years ago.
