Depends what you need. A 42*42 seems quite low for me but maybe you'd want lower for heavier hilly touring. But that's not a gravel bikes specialty.

I mean the other end, gravel bikes to me seem like they'd be pretty decent all 'rounders. But I'd want 48/11 as a minimum could probably settle for a 38/48. The granny ring on my triple sees little use even with a trailer or kiddie seat and some stiff inclines. (I'm running an old and cheap 28-38-48 x 30-11) on 700 wheels.

My mountain bike has the same problem, I spin out to quickly.

Never heard of Presca, anybody any knowledge of quality and whether these are genuine bargains ?

Didn't bother Beryl Burton. Apparently she regularly rode a 60 tooth chainring in races.
Good enough for Beryl etc.. :okay:

Flat races no problem. She could max attack. I don’t recall her ever doing much steep stuff only very long flatter rides.
