Apparently I say 'Aik-shun' when everyone else says 'acshunn'.

Lucky it is not a naval term. As seafareing types manage to shorten Forecastle down to Fo'c'sle they might have got Forehead down to F'ed.

What about 'often'? I say it should rhyme with 'soften' (though, to confuse things I have heard someone pronounce 'soften' sounding the 't')

This is a north-south thing. Take "bath", me being northern it's bath with the "a" as in bat. Them southerners say it bath with the "a" as in half. Although I say fore-head, most people round here (especially the older generation!) say forred.

I prefer "forrid" but usually say "forehead" because its the most common pronunciation.

It depends which part of the body you are referring to:
Forehead > part of the penis
Forrid > part of the head
