Fair question...it's just one of those things. It's like it jars when I hear ree-search. It's ri-search, isn't it? Doesn't matter a toss - like I say, it jars. Guess I'm curious to know whether it's just me.

"Forrid" is closest to my pronunciation. Likewise, "weskit" rather than "waistcoat."
