Well done, your fitness can't be that shocking as 50 miles is a fair old jaunt and you've just ticked off a significant milestone. Losing 4 stone is even better. Well done, you should be feeling proud of yourself!

Cheers willo - happy with my weight loss and cycling goals so far - but would like to lose another stone or so and get 100miles under the belt next summer - so winter training is essential for me to get there!

Whereabouts are you based? There's a few 100 milers organised through this very site and from experience, I'd say your first 100 will be a lot easier in company.

south wales martin - at the moment i'm doing this for exercise and weight loss, maybe next year i might look at doing the odd group ride, but i want to lose more weight first
