I wish that I'd done that when Halfords had a sale of Vans SPD shoes around six years ago. They were being sold at £12 pair and I only bought one pair. They proved to be the most comfortable SPD trainers that I have ever owned. I'm willing to pay full whack for a replacement pair if they still made them.

Are these the same ones? I like the look of them as I love Vans trainers but £72 is a massive jump from the £12 that you paid.

You could give up the walking lark & just cycle everywhere


mind, you'd only have to go shopping for new 'tyres' every other year, probably changing from your favourite tread pattern to a new fangled 'chav' one ....
