FNRttC FNRtC to Newhaven, Dieppe and Paris

Be warned about turning up a bit late for the ferry - on another trip one of our number arrived half an hour before sailing time and was not allowed on board, no matter how we pleaded. It was very sad waving goodbye to him as he stood forlornly on the quayside, and he had to hang around in Newhaven all day, which is punishment in itself. He managed to get on the next ferry that arrived in the very early hours of the morning. One of us had to get out of bed to go and fetch him to the hotel in Dieppe

Yeah I admit this is a worry. My reservation says I need to checkin by 8.30 on Friday morning. Means getting to breakfast at around 7 - 7.30am.

More worry is getting my sorry self out of bed to be at Dieppe port at 4.30am on Sunday morning!!

Not very far though. Or at least close enough for me to walk (which I admit has been known to cause its own issues).

At least you would be stuck in Dieppe, If I'm late in the morning I'm stuck in Newhaven... and there is a reason I haven't been back for over 3 years! Still deciding how much insurance time to build into my ride down there

Not good though as I'm on jury service on Monday. Look out for the Sun headline on Tuesday:

"Juror who went on French bender and couldn't be a****d to come back for jury service sentenced to 3 months for contempt of court"

I'm starting to think that beer may be the least of Davy's worries this weekend!!

So long as I get my raw steak though I don't care what he eats

Just hang out near that café Andy - there was loads of time last year, and the newsagent to the right on that parade has The Sun, Star, Sport, Mail etc Kit Kats and near sell-by date pasties,...so erudite 'pass the time' reading matter will not be a problem...
