Thanks for the hits! I,ll keep an eye on your trip. We were aware of the jet stream from the west & subsequently lots of riders miffed by our decision to head west as we passed through Texas. That sure is a tough start for you, be prepared.
Funny they weren't interested when we ex[lained we had favourable winds in Florida and Louisiana!.
You'll love it.

I am hoping the excitement of being underway will trump the Day 1 ascent!

Good luck and I too will be following you on crazyguy. A friend rode the Southern Tier 2x: once self supported and once supported. The supported trip was with Bubbas Pampered Pedals, a business that sets up and takes down your tent, blows up your air mattress, serves lunch along the way and transports all to the next overnight. Not cheap tho'..........Do you know about Warm Showers? These are folks who will host you overnight, usually for no cost. I believe there is a web site.
