I understand your view. I was in two minds myself but, distressing as it is for his family, maybe it's what is needed to bring the stark horror of such incidents to the forefront of drivers' minds. It might help focus their attention on the consequences of not driving properly around us (and I'm not saying this particular driver was at fault, I don't know enough of the circumstances).

I don't know if telling us that the body lay for an hour and a half under a blue tent will make drivers aware of their responsibilities,but i know it'll put some people off cycling for good! A cyclist will think "that could've been me". A motorist or wagon driver most likely wont think that they might kill a cyclist by their actions,and if they do they'll start to make their excuses from the moment of impact!
