Betancur shoots off too early?

Looking at the overhead, Henao moved from Moreno to Gilbert's wheel on the final up, expecting him to go again. Normally that would have been the right choice, but Gilbert just didn't have it today and Moreno did.

Too steep for him.
How steep was it

It ramps up to around 15% in the latter stages of the climb.

Yeah, it's one of the most difficult classic finishes - Sagan is a great all-round rider and can sprint on moderate uphill finishes as well as the flat, but he's not one for these really steep finishes.

I think perhaps A Schleck can take some solace from finishing this race, 6 + minutes back but in a bunch, and still 4 + minutes ahead of some notable names.
I know this is not a popular viewpoint in these here parts though. Just stating a fact.

It looked to me as if he sat up on the penultimate climb, which was a bit strange because he was righ at the head of the peloton only 5 mins before. Whatever his reasons he has improved, is that two races finished now?

He would get a bit more respect though if he had rule 5'ed it to the finish, whatever his form is he ain't getting back to the sharp end of the race if he doesn't push at the end of races like today.

I don't think this was a race where you can say much about a lot of top riders who finished minutes behind - Richie Porte was clearly just stretching his legs today, for example, and Schleck didn't look like he was anywhere near being Radioshack's designated rider - they had Gallopin, Hermans and Zubeldia all there on the Mur de Huy going for those all important World Tour points - while he was chatting and chilling after falling out of the back on the second-last climb. What is for sure is that only the 40-odd riders who made it over that second last climb in the first group were riding all-out in the last section and everyone else was just riding to finish.
