Flat Tyre?

I've got a Mavic Yksion UST tyre on my rear wheel - it's done 5,500 km

If I run my finger over the tyre, the contact area seems to have flattened. I can't see any wear indicators and the tyre looks ok otherwise.

I see the new version of this tyre has "a more durable compound" so maybe 5,500 km is the life of this tyre?

Flattening of a tyre is often associated with consistently running too low a pressure

It's fine, run it till the wear indicator or carcass shows. You may notice it if cornering hard, some people do, I don't particularly.

If you're not having more punctures than normal I'd be happy with it.

They do square off, especially rear ones. 5,500km is good going.

Run Strozaprettis on a Brompton .. 500km tops, made out of tissue psper but they at least run fast...
