Not yet. Need to try the radiator/soapy water trick.Any luck?
Yeah I didn't check for the front. I assume that one doesn't matter?Glad I checked rotation direction first.... wouldn't want to repeat that too soon
Oh.... i think putting them on reverse direction isn't advised, particularly in grimy winter conditions. Sorry, last thing you wanted to hearYeah I didn't check for the front. I assume that one doesn't matter?
Yeah I intend to do the sealant outdoors. Just trying to get the beads over the rim in the warmth of the house.Bit of advice, don't do it in the house or anywhere you don't want to be cleaning gunk off. Heard too many stories of badly fitted tyres (user error) popping off the rim, followed by gunk that covers the room. Not easy to wipe off.
Do front wheels have a front or back direction? I thought fronts were symmetrical??Oh.... i think putting them on reverse direction isn't advised, particularly in grimy winter conditions. Sorry, last thing you wanted to hear
Yeah I can see the tyre has an arrow on it, but the wheel itself doesn't. I know the back's direction because of the cassette side, but the front looks totally symmetrical.Tyres have a rotation direction if they have any tread. Many aren't directional.

Makes sod all difference on a road tyre, treaded or slick. The treads are only for show, they do not disperse water.Oh.... i think putting them on reverse direction isn't advised, particularly in grimy winter conditions. Sorry, last thing you wanted to hear
But does it actually make a difference with rim brakes? The wheel looks completely assymetrical, there is no obvious marking to dictate the forward direction. That’s why people get disc brakes, so they know which way round the wheel goes.
