Hi

Had road bike only a few weeks now, I am totally addicted!
Clocked up a 50 miler yesterday, love the fact that I can get out either on my own, or with friends.
Use STRAVA app / website to log rides.

Nice bike! Cool to hear that you are enjoying it! Also use Strava and find that it makes me push myself a lot more than I used to (perhaps a bit too much...especially on the Friday commute when my legs are saying 'no' but my mind is saying 'segment').

Thanks, yes I also find myself hammering up (and down) some fierce hills in an attempt to get that cup for a certain segment!
It's great!

Good going mate.
I think 50 miles is my next big aim. I am thinking about getting a second bottle cage before I try it though.

Strava is good, I have only used it a couple of times but am amazed that you get it all for free.

Good going, I hope to be able to do 50 miles in one go soon. My best is 40 and I nearly died after it!

I guess it's all about fluids and foods for anything over 40. I use a 750ml bottle (not enough) and a couple of pieces of malt loaf with peanut butter. And I use jelly babies to top up with!

I gets easier, I did 50+ in two stints yesterday, the first to cover 600 miles for Oct, then went and did another 16 miles to make 100km for the month.
Early afternoon ride & late afternoon unfortunately the gps missed a mile or so (my fault). but run a 2nd computer as well which covered for the mileage.

I dont find it a problem upto 40-50 miles I havent done any thing much longer for a long time, but even the 40 mile rides I do I dont tend to drink much at the mo, though I have a few nibbles (fig rolls ect..) from time to time

Thinking about getting into Strava. Problem is do I spend money on a device that supports Strava or do I spend my hard earned cash on a new road bike?
Have to hope I get a decent end of year bonus next March and do both!
