hi, having used a mtb for the past 8 month to get to work (6 miles there and 6 miles back), i decided that a road bike might be better, so when the cycle solutions came back to my works i jumped at the chance, not wanting to spend much on a road bike, just in case i didnt feel right on it, i opted for the airlite 100, with a massive saving of £120 with the scheme. it will be here soon, and look forward to riding it.
any tips on road bike riding?

Get a track pump if you don't already have one so you can keep your tyres at the correct pressure which reduces the likelihood of punctures. If you're planning on doing any longer rides for leisure you might want some cycling specific clothing. If you live near an Aldi it'd be worth a look as they're currently having a sale on cycling goods.

You'll feel more 'connected' to the road on a road bike so you may want to adapt your technique to be more careful about avoiding potholes, drain covers etc. if you haven't already. Also, don't go bashing your wheels against kerbs because they won't thank you for it.

Oh, and have fun! Road bikes are great. Just be aware that if you get into it you'll suddenly feel an overpowering urge to upgrade to something stupidly expensive.

i am already looking at clothing.

So......there we have it from the horse's mouth. The pothole repairs don't last because they are filled with clothing:biggrin:

That'll be tarmac then!
