Yup I'd agree with that. Hate hills!

Only in one direction though. They're awesome in the other.

I well remember riding a £50 gas pipe bso (bike shaped object) up the hill from the sea front car park at Criccieth to the Castle Hill chip shop, with way too much effort. In the chip shop queue, I felt so faint I thought to myself "I'm going to die, ignominiously, in this queue". Now, a couple of years after, I'm trundling up and down the Malverns or up Saintbury on way to a 50 kilometre pleasure ride most Sundays, no worries.

Keep riding, a bit at a time, and enjoy the fitness that comes. :okay:

Picked up my bike today and did my first ride. I had forgotten how hilly Bristol is my thighs remember now tho.

Felt sick half way through the ride. Hoping I'll get over this and get used to the hills. Just need to keep going
Firstly Well Done
Secondly I quite often feel sick if i go out of the blocks too quick, I've currently moved over to MTB from Road & don't experience it as much, but looking back I would enjoy the initial speed from home & then regret it.

Yes I am trying to find the least steep hills on each route.,
Make sure you eat, you need fuel to give you energy, I should talk, sometimes i go out with no food and start feeling weak.
 
I think getting better at hills is one of the pleasures of cycling. You limit yourself so much if you don't do a bit of climbing. OK, I live in a pretty flat area, but don't let hills put you off is my advice - get your gear selection right and spin up then with joy. (If she is riding with you.)

Just get your cadence right when going up hills and it is easier, don't push it otherwise you'll be buggered half way up.
Some days I'm ok with hills and other days I wish I never started going up it, lol
