Hi All,

Well just had my first ride in full lycra gear and cycle comp all from aldi.....

anyway here was my first recorded ride with some nice big heals

22.40 miles - 1.30 mins - 14.92 avarage speed and all in the wet, which i enjoyed that weird lol.

Anyway not to bad i dont think, once i get my SPD pedals i hope that improves my cycling too.

It really is strange how cycling is much more enjoyabe when the rider or the bike has some new kit.

Same bike + same kit = tedium.

Not bad Rabbit, a shade under 15 mph average.
If you're young and fit, you should increase that easily.
If you're not so young, it'll take longer (going by my efforts)
I always seem to average 15 to 16 mph average, irrespective of distance, be it 20 miles...or 50.
Over a summers riding, i can squeeze 17 mph average out...but with a lot of effort xx(

Well done tho..

I have an Allex 09 double, my first race bike, i play football at a good level so I do a lot of running and my finess level is pretty good, just need to turn that into getting quicker on my bike. im crap at going downhills tho i think i can get my ave speed up if i stop useing the breaks

Ah racebike, for a scary moment I thought you might be one of these people who can do 15mph on a hybrid. I had a good level of fitness before I started cycling, I was a better runner than I am a cyclist. 15mph is still very good for a beginner , that's my lifetime speed goal.

Top speed is always interesting. I think, in a way, it showss your bravery.

36 last week on the fixed  on the CC Manningtree ride, thank god the hill ended as it was starting to feel uncomfortable

Well done Rabbit food, good average
