Hush! I use anything over a mile as an excuse for a snack...
+1 for wearing layers. I always overdress (I mean too many layers, not that I wear a ballgown) and make sure I have a pannier to put them in as I strip off. Or even if it's warm, I take a thin longsleeved layer with me, in case I end up sitting about in a cool breeze or something.
Anyway, well done for enjoying the ride despite feeling rough on the way back, and hope you're over it soon.
