That's a nice bike,I really hope you take the time to enjoy your inital cycling, it might hurt your sit bones initially, but the bike will do lots for you. Making sure you're confortable will probably take a few rides, but I have ridden a very similar bike up to 70 ish miles, with this as a first hill http://veloviewer.com/segment/1078842/Arundel+to+Whiteways+Climb+ which I couldn't get up the first 3 attempts... After those 1st few tries (this was in mile 2,) a further 60+ to do ,I never had issues after that. I did L2B in under 4 hours too, and I was hooked.
Keep at it, check back here for advice when you need it, and you'll be loving it!

Well I'm back from my first ride and absolutely loved it.

I was a bit wobbly at first & the bike felt pretty alien, but after 10mins I felt comfortable and managed to work the gears out etc. I love the bike, granted being my first I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm impressed so far. Only really had to adjust the seat height everything else felt comfortable enough. Didn't even have any issues with my backside which is surprising given I only wore my standard running tights with a pair of running shorts over the top (still need to go buy some padded shorts when I get a chance). I even managed to ride into the middle of a triathlon which was interesting!

I did 18miles which I think is pretty much my level for now. My legs were just starting to feel it by the time I got home. I think the mileage should go up soon enough though when my muscles adjust. Cardio wise I felt fine.

Can't wait to get out again ^_^

My first ride lasted only 20 yards or so. My Dad had just taken off the stabilisers on my bike, but omitted to teach me how to turn or brake. So when a neighbour openend his car door in my path the result wss inevitable.

I have vague memories of hitting a bread van , due to my tricycle not being able to corner as well as I had "calculated"
