This'll be me after Christmas. My present Specialized BG Comp road shoes. .

I bought a pair of the 2011 shoes with the 'Boa' closure about 5 months ago and find them great. The ventilation in the warmer weather compared to my previous Sidi shoes was a godsend. I felt a bit self concious at first wearing white shoes bit I soon forgot about that.
Hope you find yours as comfortable as I find mine.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I've managed to do exactly that so far, so here's hoping.

The bit I'm finding it hardest to get used to is consitantly pedalling in circles.
Haha !

Saw an article on pedaling technique that basically says the most efficient way of pedaling is down to your body and your probably doing it already without thinking
http://www.bikeradar.com/fitness/article/technique-pedal-like-a-pro-12772/

For the best way to improve technique many will recommend getting a fixed bike as this forces you to pedal all the time .

Finally clipless, you will fall over at some point and it will be with a crowd to appreciate it , heres my best one...

Coming up to a mini roundabout i see a car appraoching from the right so i slow down with plenty of time to let the car go without stopping so i do not unclip. The car starts to slow down but i still think i am ok..
"come on i think "
Car stops , to late i realize they are letting me go or think i am a "POB" and will jump out anyway .....

EEEPP !!!! wobble wobble ..... thud !!!!

Cut to knee that bleeds for the further 9 miles to work and i have a nice red topped sock

I've read that artical before. Im only unloading the upstroke rather than a pull, so it doesn't tire too much. I just need to wait until my glutes catch up and I recon I'm set.

Yes, wouldn't worry too much about "technique." Fluidity is related to fitness though, I've found ... and choosing the right gears.

Make sure you keep pedal springs lubricated. Rusty mech will assure that illusive clipless moment!

Good to see a few others here who are new to clipless pedals. I went for my second 'clipped in' ride today and so far I can't see myself going back to flat pedals, that opinion may change when I have my first clipless moment though!

I'm well chuffed, and I'm loving the greater power of circular pedaling but I need the new muscles to hurry up and catch up already

Yeah the power increase definitely makes a difference. I can only use the extra power on the upstroke in short bursts before my legs feel tired at the moment though!

Yeah that's me at the moment too. Short bursts for hill crests when I'm falling apart and the odd bit of turbo boost when it's needed! I'm not sure if it'll get more than that, but here's trying huh!
