Good Afternoon All,

Im looking at getting into Road Biking, i have a old GT bike which i use for the sea wall trip, or out with the kids but i want to join my friend on longish bike rides, He has a Bianchi Via Nirone. I cant afford that much on a bike, ive been looking at bikes around £400 and not too sure what to go for so any tips would be great, been tol dthe Giant Defy 4, but ive seen this for £499.00

Saracen Londres Campagnolo Xenon 2 2010 Road Bike

£499 instead of £699, is there a reason its been dropped £200, are they any good, or it it worth going for the Giant or a Specialized?

I dont know why but Dawes bikes dont do it for me so any suggestions would be great.

Thank you

Neil

I'd advise visiting local bike stores, having a look at what they have at that price, and most of all, checking the sizes and getting one what is the right size for you. I don't really have any idea about that bike sorry.

Hi Riches

How tall are you?

I suspect they've reduced the bike as it's an odd size 51cm is for about 5" 3 to 5"5 (I think)

Do you have a cycle to work scheme you could take advantage of?

Thanks for the replies, im around 5'9, inside leg is 31'' so im assuming a 55 frame.

Cant do the ride to work as ive just been made redundant so the bike is going to be my treat to myself.

Thanks youngoldbloke ill keep away from that then and have a look at the Giant
