Rode to work today 8 miles, took me 20 mins to compose myself to get changed!!! its windy out there for me today.

Nearly knacked my bike, rode too near a fence and my front pannier bag twisted, i nearly died!, stopped immediately and managed to straighten it, fortunately the spokes were ok.

They have already offered me a lift home in case i dont feel like riding home , they just dont get it!

That's called the 'learning curve', you're on the steepest bit at the moment

No, 'they' don't do they. 'They' would wimp out and use the car, but then 'they' aren't going to get any fitter are they? In addition, they probably use their car to drive to the Gym, whilst calling you mad for cycling to & from work

Finally, and being very cheeky :sad::biggrin:, your hubby will soon shut up about your cycling when he sees what it's doing for the tone of your bum muscles

hubby has said nothing else  just rolled his eyes when i told him i was cycling to work. Any cheek of him anyway and i might confiscate his racer and try it out myself

Mr Weenie was similarly sceptical when I announced my intentions. However, when I started getting quicker, losing weight, gaining confidence and looking semi-decent in lycra all changed. Far from giggling at my ambition to own a high-vis yellow jacket he bought me one for Christmas last year, a nice, reasnably expensive, ccle-specific one

Speaking as a bloke, Wheeledweenie and Donna, the most effective way to get them to belt up would be to, ahem  , 'withold priviliges', as it were, for a while, 'til they stop. The threat of that's enough to shut any bloke up!

Especially effective once you have lovely legs from all the cycling :@)

I managed the 8 miles home, took me 50 mins and I swear the wind was changing direction so it was against me all the time  nearly killed me. But hey im in one piece and feeling great about it.

Roll on next week so I can do it again

Soon you will end up like me, lusting after a GPS with altimeter, and all manner of ridiculous accesories - makes locking up a bike a nightmare I can tell you...
